Visakhapatnam: In line with the Government of India’s various developmental initiatives being taken up in the North-East region, Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited, the corporate entity of Visakhapatnam Steel Plant has opened a new stock yard at Guwahati, the capital of Assam, to make Quality Vizag steel products easily accessible to the North East region of India.

The new stock yard is located at Pandu premises of Inland Waterways Authority of India, Guwahati. First train rake with Vizag Steel products arrived there this week.


DK Mohanty, Director (Commercial) & CMD-Addl. Charge, whgile congratulating RINL collective and marketing department in particular for expanding the company’s market, said that this stock yard would cater to the needs of the customers in the North-Eastern region and help in the Infrastructural growth and developmental projects of that region.

The first consignment was handed over to the customer M/s Larsen & Toubro ECC group and the material was dispatched for their ongoing projects in the NE region.
