River Godavari crosses first warning level at Bhadrachalam
River Godavari breached the first warning level at Bhadrachalam in Kothagudem district on Friday, prompting authorities to issue alerts and begin precautionary measures. District Collector Jitesh V Patil has directed officials to evacuate flood-affected areas and shift residents to relief centres.

Kothagudem: River Godavari has crossed the first warning level and is rising steadily at Bhadrachalam in the district on Friday.
The water level at 5pm was 44.50 feet with a discharge of 9.96 lakh cusecs, hence the first warning was issued, district Collector Jitesh V Patil said. There is a forecast for further rise in the water level.
People living on the banks of the river should be alert, the Collector said while directing the officials to shift residents in flood-affected areas to relief centres. The district administration has been monitoring the flood situation and necessary steps will be taken in case of any emergency.
Patil urged the people to cooperate in the rescue operations and strictly follow the instructions of the officials. The public should contact the control room numbers for emergency services.
