Hyderabad: The National Green Tribunal (NGT) has made it clear that Andhra Pradesh Chief Secretary Adityanath Das has to face action if it was found that its orders were violated at the Rayalaseem Lift Irrigation Scheme (RLIS) site.
“He (Adityanath Das) will be held responsible for committing violations at the site during his tenure even after he retires,” the NGT observed while hearing the case on Monday. Adityanath Das is set to retire this month end. The advocate, who argued on behalf of AP, informed the NGT that the works were carried out at the site only to prepare a Detailed Project Report (DPR).

The advocate argued that there was no need to cover up the works. After hearing the arguments, the NGT adjourned the matter to September 30.
