PEDDAPALLI: A registered medical practitioner (RMP) Yashwanth was attacked by unknown persons in Ramnagar of Godavarikhani coal belt town on Tuesday.

The condition of the RMP was stated to be serious as he sustained severe knife injuries. He was shifted to Karimnagar for better treatment.

According to the police, Yashwanth along with his family was staying in the Singareni quarters in the Ramnagar area.

While his wife Prathima was working as a senior staff nurse in the Singareni area hospital, Yashwanth was working as a male nurse in Ramagundam Fertilizers and Chemicals Limited (RFCL) on a contract basis. He was also a registered medical practitioner.

When his wife Prathima came home, Yashwanth was found lying in a pool of blood in the kitchen. She shifted him to the Singareni area hospital with the help of their neighbours.
