Hyderabad: A portion of a major road near Cyber Gateway (Cyber Towers) suddenly sank in Madhapur on Friday at around 7 pm, causing heavy traffic jams and disrupting vehicular movement in the area.

Madhapur Traffic Inspector B Sreekanth confirmed the incident and told ‘Telangana Today’, “A traffic cop who was on duty at Cyber Towers noticed that the traffic movement slowed down and checked. He found that a sinkhole was the main reason for the traffic jam. He immediately placed a barricade at the sinkhole site and regulated the traffic.”

The incident occurred during peak hours and led to congestion as commuters and motorists faced delays while passing through the affected stretch, mainly traffic proceeding towards IKEA from Cyber Gateway (Medicover Hospital). Traffic cops tried to manage the vehicular movement around the site as the situation continued to affect traffic flow, but the stretch remained packed due to festival rush.
