Hyderabad: As part of an ongoing road safety drive, over 90 per cent of potholes across Greater Hyderabad have been repaired. The engineering department will fill the remaining potholes damaged by the rains, said GHMC commissioner R V Karnan.
On Monday, the commissioner, who visited artificial Ganesh idol immersion ponds at People’s Plaza, Sun Rising Point, Lake View Park Bathukamma Kunta, and Sanjeevaiah Park Baby Pond on Necklace Road, along with other officials, said that elaborate arrangements like barricading, lighting, crane setup, and control rooms are being taken up.
In coordination with Hydraa and the Tourism Department, 9 boats, DRF teams, and 200 expert swimmers have been kept ready in Hussain Sagar. To facilitate the smooth procession of Ganesh idol immersions along the 303.3 km main procession route, 160 Ganesh action teams have been deployed, said the commissioner in an official release.
