Hyderabad: To ease traffic at the one-way traffic system introduced around KBR Park, civic authorities have decided to take up road widening works at select locations.

Hyderabad City Police Commissioner VC Sajjanar, along with GHMC Commissioner RV Karnan and senior officials from various departments conducted a field inspection of the one-way traffic system around KBR Park on Wednesday, identifying several stretches where traffic movement slows down.

The senior officials discussed measures to ensure a smoother and uninterrupted flow of vehicles. Officials observed that selective road widening could help ease congestion at the identified bottlenecks.

Karnan directed officials to expedite road-widening works, complete pending road repairs at high-density locations and address drainage-related issues as a priority.

The team of officials reviewed traffic conditions and feedback from motorists and examined bottlenecks at key junctions, including Film Nagar, Journalist Colony, Road No. 45, Jubilee Hills Checkpost and the KBR Park Main Gate.

Special focus was placed on the stretch between Film Nagar Junction and Road No. 45 Junction. Officials directed departments concerned to shift electric poles, water supply lines, drainage networks and other utility infrastructure obstructing road expansion on a priority.
