Telangana, the Minister said, intends to scale up IT exports from the State to over Rs three lakh crore in the next five years, that would simultaneously also see the employment touching the 10 lakh mark in the IT and ITeS sector. As part of the State government’s efforts to take IT and ITeS beyond Hyderabad, over 50,000 jobs will be generated in the sector in Tier II and Tier III cities in the State that would establish them as IT Hubs of the future, the Minister said.
Pointing out that the State had seen the highest annual growth rate in IT/ITeS exports in the last five years in the country and in the process, creating over 2.5 lakh jobs, Rama Rao said the State also saw the entry of several marquee investors during the period. The current direct employment in the sector in the State was 6.5 lakh, he said.

The new ICT policy aims to empower and enable citizens of the State to take advantage of the growing digital world. It will work to make Telangana a first-choice destination for Startups and investors,” he said.
