According to the police, Azam identified and targeted trucks being driven by drivers without any helper or cleaner, and robbed them. “He creates a scene as if the truck has hit him and then robs the drivers by threatening and assaulting them,” police said. Recently, he looted a truck driver in the similar way on Sagar Ring Road.

He committed offences including extortion, attention diversion and robberies and cases are booked against him in Chandrayangutta, Amberpet, Saidabad, Rajendranagar, Santoshnagar and Mailardevpally.

“He did not change his attitude even after being arrested and sent to jail. He was earlier detained under the PD Act too. But, after being released from the prison, he continued committing offences,” police said.
