Hyderabad: Robotic technology would be adopted to avoid untoward incidents during the cleaning of sewerage lines and manholes in the city, said the Animal Husbandry Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav on Saturday.
“In Sanathnagar constituency the robotic technology is being used on pilot basis to clean manholes. The project is yielding good results and the same will be used across the city soon,” he said.
Every Assembly segment in the city has five to six AirTech machines compared to earlier days when only one machine was used to clear choked sewerage lines in three Assembly segments, he said.
“New technologies should be used to avoid manual intervention,” the Minister said at a safety awareness campaign held for Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWSSB) workers.
In his address, HMWSSB Managing Director Dana Kishore, said Hyderabad is treating the waste water better than other cities in the country.
