Role of AI in Geosciences, interactive workshop held at Osmania University

Hyderabad: Society of Geologists (SOCGEO), Hyderabad, in collaboration with the Department of Geology, Osmania University, have conducted an interactive workshop on the “Role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Geosciences” at University College of Science, Osmania University.
Prof. D. Karuna Sagar, Senior Professor of Physics & Dean, Faculty of Science, Osmania University, stressed the need for the usage of AI in scientific applications because of its swiftness in analysing a huge quantity of data in a very short time.
Prof. G Prabhakar, Principal, University College of Science and Chairperson, BoS, Osmania University, stressed the need to be careful while populating the data for the AI applications since wrong inputs may lead to faulty results.
Prof. I Panduranga Reddy, Director, Directorate of Admissions and Head, Department of Geology, Osmania University, B P Ramprasad, Incharge Organising Committee, P Nagendra Kumar, TPS Ramam, PK Mathur, Mukund Kulkarni and C. Hanumanth Reddy, Executive Committee members of the Society were also present.
Senior professionals from Oil & Gas industry and Mineral & Mining industry – C Sandilya, CVSN Prasad, JD Rao, DN Prasad, Basha, along with Prof. B. Veeraiah, Head -Department of Centre of Exploration Geophysics, Osmania University, were among the attendees at the event.
