Hyderabad: Roundglass Sports has announced its association with India’s top-ranked singles player Sumit Nagal, a landmark move that further strengthens the Roundglass Tennis Academy’s position as one of the most credible and ambitious high-performance tennis ecosystems in the country.

Currently India’s No.1 singles player and a career-high rank of 68, Nagal’s journey has already etched several defining chapters in Indian tennis history. From winning the 2015 Wimbledon boys’ doubles title, becoming only the sixth Indian to lift a junior Grand Slam trophy, to breaking new ground on the sport’s biggest stages, Nagal has consistently pushed boundaries for Indian men’s tennis.

In 2020, Nagal became the first Indian since Somdev Devvarman at the 2013 US Open to win a singles main-draw match at a Grand Slam when he entered the second round at the US Open, later representing India in the Tokyo Olympic Games main draw. More recently, Nagal claimed a memorable first-round victory over Alexander Bublik at the Australian Open, highlighting his ability to compete with the world’s best.

In 2024, Nagal added another milestone to his career by making his Masters 1000 debut at the BNP Paribas Open in Indian Wells, entering the main draw and replacing Rafael Nadal, becoming the first Indian to feature at a Masters 1000 event since Prajnesh Gunneswaran in Miami in 2019.

His association with Roundglass Sports is not just a partnership, but a shared commitment to excellence, and the larger growth of Indian tennis.

Speaking on the new chapter in his life, Sumit Nagal said, “I see this association with Roundglass as a partnership built on trust, ambition and a shared vision for Indian tennis. Roundglass is creating something meaningful for players: an environment that respects the grind, understands the demands of the tour, and genuinely invests in development. I’m excited to be part of this journey and to contribute to a system that is pushing Indian tennis forward.”

Roundglass Tennis Academy lead, Aditya Sachdeva, called the association a defining step in the academy’s evolution: “Bringing Sumit Nagal into the Roundglass Tennis Academy setup is a massive moment for us. He represents resilience, global competitiveness, and belief, qualities we want every young player here to absorb. His experience on the Grand Slam circuit, at the Olympics, and at Masters 1000 events adds enormous value to our environment. This association reinforces our intent to build a world-class pathway at RGTA for Indian tennis players.”
