Hyderabad: Royal Enfield is making deeper inroads into Telangana, as the State remains one of the key markets for the company. The motorcycle maker is seeing demand not only from Hyderabad but also from upcountry markets across the State.
Over the last two years, the company recorded a 2.5X growth in Telangana. Royal Enfield has invested in growing its retail presence and today has over 100 stores and more than 80 studio stores in the State. It has more than 17 per cent market share in the 150cc plus segment in Telangana, out of which Classic contributes to a significant 72 per cent of sales.
Jayapradeep Vasudevan, National Business Head (South & East), Royal Enfield, told Telangana Today, “In addition to Hyderabad, we have seen good demand from the district headquarters. The market is growing in places such as Khammam and Warangal. We are seeing an active community engagement in the State, driven by the base we have created in Hyderabad.”
When asked about retail expansion plans in the State, he said, “We will be adding 10-12 outlets in Telangana soon. These will be dealer-owned outlets and this format remains attractive for us. We also have 60 plus ‘Service on wheels’ bikes in the region.”
To improve customer engagement and service, the company has been adding several features to its app.
Questioned about electric vehicle and green mobility plans, Vasudevan said, “We have definite plans for electric vehicles and the concerned teams are already working in that direction.”
