Hyderabad: Under the ‘Operation Amanat’ initiative, the Railway Protection Force (RPF) of South Central Railway (SCR) has recovered 34 lost mobile phones during the month of August, with 9 phones already returned to their rightful owners.

The recoveries were made through the RPF’s dedicated Cyber Cell, which is actively using digital tools to trace lost devices.

RPF officials said a total of 125 complaints were received across the SCR zone, including Secunderabad, Hyderabad, Vijayawada, Guntakal, Guntur, and Nanded divisions. Of them, 96 mobile phones were blocked, while traceability was detected in 34 cases and they were recovered.

The RPF Cyber Cell uses the Central Equipment Identity Register (CEIR) portal, which enables IMEI-based tracking and blocking of devices.

SCR General Manager Sanjay Kumar Srivastava appreciated the efforts of the RPF teams.
