Hyderabad: The Railway Protection Force (RPF) Secunderabad personnel have recovered a total of 703 items belonging to rail passengers worth Rs 1.8 crore under ‘Operation Amanat’ this year until now.
The recovered items include mobile phones, laptops, jewelry, cash and other valuables, which were returned to rightful owners. The items lost by the passengers are in various spots on the railway premises.
Divisional Security Commissioner, Secunderabad, A Naveen Kumar, lauded the quick action and vigilance of RPF staff and emphasised the role of the operation in enhancing passenger convenience.
Railway authorities requested travelers to safeguard their belongings and report any lost items via the toll-free railway helpline on 139.
