Hyderabad: In a swift and heroic act, Railway Protection Force (RPF) woman constable Susmitha saved a passenger from a near-fatal fall while he was boarding a moving train at Kacheguda railway station.
The incident occurred on Sunday evening, when the passenger, identified as Sadula Manideep (31), from Warangal, slipped while attempting to shift from one coach to the other of the Kacheguda–Mysuru Express as the train was in motion.
Displaying remarkable alertness, constable Susmitha, assisted by Govinda Rao, a railway staff rushed to pull the passenger away from the moving train just in time. Further, the train manager’s prompt application of the emergency brake helped avert a major mishap.
The passenger escaped unhurt, and senior RPF officials appreciated Susmitha’s quick thinking and bravery.
