Rs 15 lakh theft reported in Punjagutta

A furniture shop employee lost Rs 15 lakh in cash near the Punjagutta flyover in Hyderabad while on his way to deposit the money at a bank. Police registered a case after the cash bag reportedly went missing outside a stamp paper shop

Hyderabad: A theft involving Rs 15 lakh in cash from an employee of a furniture store was reported in Punjagutta.

Nagaraju, an employee of a furniture shop in Banjara Hills, was entrusted by his employer with depositing Rs 15 lakh at a bank in Jubilee Hills.


While on the way to the bank, he reportedly stopped at a stamp paper shop near the Punjagutta flyover. He left the cash bag on a chair outside the shop and went inside to purchase stamp papers. When he returned, the bag was missing.

The victim then approached the Punjagutta police and lodged a complaint.

The case is under investigation.
