Hyderabad: Justice T Vinod Kumar of Telangana High court granted bail to an accused said to be involved in alleged Rs 500 crore scam involving Indian Bank.

The accused Prabhakar was in jail for over a month and the court overruled the objection of the public prosecutor that investigation into the case was still under progress.

The judge pointed out that “the accused cannot be detained in judicial custody for an indefinite period, which in a way amounts to pre-trial conviction and also in violation of his fundamental right of freedom.
