Sangareddy: An RTC conductor, who did not issue a ticket to a passenger even after receiving Rs 20 from him, attacked two Travelling Ticket Inspectors (TTI) when they tried to issue a charge memo after finding the passenger travelling without a ticket. The conductor further instigated the passengers in the bus to attack the TTI.
According to RTC officials, enforcement squad P Yesaiah and TTI V Prakash were conducting checks along the Zaheerabad-Narayankhed route. When the team stopped the Narayankhed-bound RTC bus at Kappad in Jharasangam mandal on Friday, they found the passenger and tried to issue a charge memo. However, the conductor Devasoth Vasanth entered into an argument and attacked TTI Prakash and Yesaiah with his chappal.
Vasanth further misled others during the entire episode by accusing the officials of demanding bribes from him. He snatched the charge memo and MTD 353 book from the enforcement squad. Yesaiah sustained injuries on his left hand, while Prakash sustained injuries on his forehead. The two victims have filed a case at Raikode police station.
The police registered a case under BNS 121 (1) on the charge of obstructing a government employee from discharging his duties. The police also filed cases against the passengers. Acting on the incident, TGRTC MD Y Nagi Reddy, in a press statement, said that stern action would be initiated against the employees if the allegations are found to be true.
