Hyderabad: Employees and workers of the Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TGSRTC) are set to stage a major protest in Hyderabad on Tuesday, February 24, with unions giving a call for a ‘Chalo Secretariat’ march to press their long-pending demands.
The Joint Action Committee (JAC) of RTC workers said the protest is aimed at drawing the State government’s attention to issues, including the merger of the corporation with the government, implementation of pay revisions, and clearance of pending dues and retirement benefits.
Union leaders said employees from various depots are expected to participate in the march towards the Telangana Secretariat. They warned of intensified agitation if their demands are not addressed.
Meanwhile, police are likely to make elaborate security and traffic arrangements in view of the proposed demonstration. Commuters have been advised to check for possible service disruptions during the day.
