Hyderabad: A strike call has been given in the Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TGSRTC), with the RTC Joint Action Committee (JAC) announcing that employees will go on strike from April 22.
The JAC on Monday stated that it had already issued strike notices on March 13, but there has been no response from the government or RTC management so far.
Expressing disappointment over the lack of action, the JAC urged the State government to take immediate steps to avert the strike.
According to JAC Vice Chairman Thomas Reddy, a total of 32 demands have been placed before the government and management.
Key demands include the merger of RTC with the State government, conducting elections for labour unions, and ensuring salaries and benefits on par with government employees.
The JAC further warned that if their demands are not addressed, the strike will proceed as planned, potentially affecting public transport services across the State.
