Warangal: The Telangana State Road Transport Corporation(TGRTC) will soon introduce 82 new electric buses in its Warangal region.

According to TGRTC officials, the 82 new electric buses would be introduced on Hyderabad, Nizamabad, Eturunagaram, Mangapet, Khammam and Bhupalpally routes.

The electric buses include Super Luxury (18), Deluxe (14), Semi Deluxe (21) and Express (29).

Delhi based JBM Company has agreed to run these buses on a gross cost contract basis. Necessary arrangements are being made at Warangal-2 Depot, which handles maintenance of buses in the Greater Warangal region.

The Super Luxury buses would have 41 seating capacity, Deluxe would have 45 seats in a 2+2 seating pattern and Express buses would have 55 seats in 2+3 seating pattern, the officials said, adding that there would be front and rear air suspension for better comfort for the passengers and two internal security cameras in cabin and saloon with 1 month backup.

These buses would have a vehicle tracking system, panic buzzer and mobile USB charging facility for every seat, 12 high voltage batteries and two low voltage batteries which would allow them to travel 360 kilometers on a single full charge.

The bus has a maximum speed lock of 80 kmph and a fire detection and alarming system to report fire accidents. It also has an intelligent transport management system with vehicle tracking, cameras, LED display boards and GPS announcements.

The halt brake system gives a warning if there are no passengers or if the driver leaves the door open.
