Karimnagar: Newly appointed District Collector RV Karnan assumed charge here on Tuesday. Karnan, who previously worked as Khammam Collector, was transferred to Karimnagar following the transfer of K Shashanka.
District officials including Additional Collector GV Shyamprasad Lal, Commissioner, Municipal Corporation of Karimnagar Valluru Kranthi, Additional Collector (local bodies) Garima Agarwal, Trainee Collector Mayank Mittal and others congratulated the collector.
Later, Karnan organized meeting with the officials of various departments at the college conference hall. When informed that 13 graveyards were pending in the district, the Collector instructed officials to appoint a Panchayat Raj deputy engineer as in-charge to each graveyard and complete the pending works within one month.
The Collector also instructed medical and health department officials to complete fever survey on a fast track mode through appointment of special teams along with ASHA workers, ANMs and panchayat secretaries. He said the spread of Covid-19 should be checked by identifying positive patients well in advance and providing treatment to them.
Haritha Haram should also be continued on a brisk note. The district has developed on all fronts during the period of previous collector Shashanka. The development was possible only because of cooperation of officials, he said and sought similar cooperation in the future.
