RWAs flag hostel nuisance and civic issues in KPHB Colony

RWAs in KPHB Colony raised concerns over hostel nuisance, roadside cooking, parking issues and footpath encroachments during the Cyberabad Municipal Corporation commissioner’s visit. They also flagged pending MP-LADS works and sought better sanitation and waste management measures.

Hyderabad: Residential Welfare Associations (RWAs) in KPHB Colony have raised concerns over nuisance from hostels, roadside cooking activities, indiscriminate parking on internal roads and encroachments on footpaths affecting pedestrian movement. They also flagged the pending execution of development works under MP-LADS.

The issues were raised when the Commissioner of Cyberabad Municipal Corporation, G Srijana, visited KPHB Colony in Kukatpally Zone as part of the ‘One Ward Every Day’ programme. She interacted with locals and RWAs at a local playground and reviewed civic conditions on the ground.


The RWAs said roadside cooking activities were causing inconvenience to commuters, while indiscriminate parking on internal roads was blocking movement. They also pointed to encroachments on footpaths that were affecting pedestrians, and sought action on pending MP-LADS development works.

During the visit, the Commissioner inspected internal lanes with RWA representatives and reviewed issues related to footpath encroachments from Mehfil Hotel to Indu Projects stretch. Officials said the focus was on strengthening sanitation practices, including implementation of source segregation as per SWM Rules 2026, establishment of dry leaf composting units in parks, and introduction of a weekly collection system for bulk waste such as furniture and thermocol.
