Suryapet: Rajya Sabha member Badugula Lingaiah Yadav on Saturday said Rythu Vedikas will serve knowledge centres for agriculture and help farmers improve their income levels

Inaugurating the Rythu Vedika at Namavm village in the district, Lingaiah Yadav said welfare of farmers was accorded top priority in the policies of the State government by the Chief Minister K Chanderashekhar Rao, who succeeded in restoring past glory to agriculture. “Agriculture has become a profitable profession only due to the measures taken up by the Chief Minister,” he added.

Pointing out that agriculture sector had cornered the lion’s share in the State budget, the MP said Rythu Bandhu, the investment support scheme, and Rythu Bima, the insurance scheme for farmers were being implemented only in Telangana and not other State in the country had such schemes. In addition, caste-based professions have been revived in rural areas following the schemes launched by the State government, he said, adding that all these had brought about a sea-change in the rural economy of the State.

He also observed that several welfare scheme implemented in Telangana were being replicated in other States.
