Sabarimala pilgrim couple from Mancherial killed in accident in Tamil Nadu
A couple from Luxettipet on a pilgrimage to Sabarimala was killed in a hit-and-run accident while crossing a road in Kanyakumari on Thursday evening. The incident occurred as they were returning from the Ayyappa temple.

Mancherial: In a tragic incident, a couple from Luxettipet town who were on pilgrimage to Sabarimala in Kerala was killed on the spot when an unidentified vehicle mowed them down while crossing a road at Kanyakumari town in Tamil Nadu on Thursday evening.
According to family members and police, Kalakurthi Satyanarayana (63), a grocery owner and his wife Ramadevi (59) received serious injuries in the accident when they were crossing a road on the outskirts of Kanyakumari town around 9 pm. They were returning after visiting Ayyappa Swamy temple in Shabari at the time of the incident. They were survived by two daughters.
The couple along with Ayyappa devotees embarked on the pilgrimage by hiring a private bus on January 6. They had darshan at the famous Ayyappa temple and were on their way back to Mancherial. They halted for a brief time to explore tourist spots and temples in Kanyakumari.
A hit and run case was registered against the driver of the vehicle. Investigations were taken up. The bodies were being shifted to Luxettipet town.
