Hyderabad: BRS working president KT Rama Rao on Sunday said the sacrifices of Telangana martyrs like Yadi Reddy would be remembered for generations and assured that the BRS would continue to stand by the families of those who laid down their lives for the separate statehood movement.
Along with former minister P Sabitha Indra Reddy and other senior party leaders, Rama Rao visited Yadi Reddy’s residence at Pedda Mangalaram in Moinabad to console his family.
He said Yadi Reddy had sacrificed his life in the hope that his extreme act in front of Parliament would spur the Centre to take a decision on the demand for a separate Telangana state.
During the visit, Rama Rao met Yadi Reddy’s mother, brother and other family members.
He recalled that after Yadi Reddy’s death, the then BRS government had provided a government job to his brother, as it had done for the families of all Telangana martyrs who sacrificed their lives during the statehood movement.
He said the government had also allotted the family a 500-square-yard plot and extended financial assistance of Rs 10 lakh. The KCR government had stood firmly by the families of hundreds of Telangana martyrs, he added.
“When we met Yadi Reddy’s mother and brother, they informed us about their health issues. On behalf of the BRS, we will take responsibility for their healthcare and ensure they receive the necessary treatment and regain good health,” Rama Rao added.
