SAI chief lauds sports infrastructure at Gachibowli Stadium

Sports Authority of India Director General Hariranjan Rao inspected facilities at Gachibowli Stadium and expressed satisfaction with the infrastructure. Officials reviewed Khelo India programmes in Telangana and discussed the possibility of hosting national-level competitions in the State.

Hyderabad: Hariranjan Rao, Director General of the Sports Authority of India and Secretary to the Government of India for Sports, expressed his satisfaction with the sports facilities available at the GMCB Stadium in Gachibowli.

He inspected various sports facilities at the Gachibowli Stadium, including the Sports Tower, FIFA Academy, Hockey Academy, swimming pool, indoor stadium, main stadium, and other amenities.


Later, he participated in a review meeting held along with Jayesh Ranjan, Special Chief Secretary to the Government of Telangana, Dr. Soni Baladevi, Managing Director of the Sports Authority of Telangana, Vishnu Sudhakaran, Regional Director of the Sports Authority of India, and officials of the Sports Authority of Telangana.

During the meeting, detailed discussions were held on Khelo India programs being implemented in Telangana, as well as other sports development initiatives. The possibilities of hosting Khelo India competitions in Telangana and the required infrastructure were also reviewed.

He appreciated the arrangements and management of the FIFA Academy being run at the Gachibowli Stadium.

Officials from the Sports Authority of India, Deputy Directors of the Sports Authority of Telangana—Chandra Reddy, Ravinder, Dr. Raviteja—and Stadium Administrator Kannam Madhu also attended.
