Sajid Ali Khan Pataudi, better known as Saif Ali Khan, is the son of actress Sharmila Tagore and renowned cricketer Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi. His mother, Sharmila, hails from a Bengali Hindu Brahmin family and is related to Rabindranath Tagore, the Nobel laureate who wrote India’s National Anthem, “Jana Gana Mana.”

Saif’s father, Mansoor Ali Khan, was a prominent Indian cricketer and former captain of the Indian cricket team. Saif also belongs to the royal Nawabi family of Pataudi. His grandfather, Iftikhar Ali Khan Pataudi, was the last ruler of the princely state of Pataudi.

The 54-year-old actor began his Bollywood career in 1993 with the film Parampara. He went on to star in popular movies such as Kal Ho Naa Ho, Main Khiladi Tu Anari, Ta Ra Rum Pum, the Race series, Love Aaj Kal, and Tanhaji, among others. Most recently, he played the antagonist in Jr. NTR’s Devara Part 1.

On the personal front, Saif first married actress Amrita Singh in 1991. Amrita, also an actress, comes from a family with military and political ties. The couple had two children—Sara Ali Khan, who predominantly works in Bollywood, and Ibrahim Ali Khan. They divorced in 2004 after 13 years of marriage.

In 2012, Saif married actress Kareena Kapoor, they have two sons, Taimur Ali Khan and Jeh.

Kareena who hails from Bollywood’s renowned “Kapoor family.” Kareena is the daughter of actors Randhir Kapoor and Babita. Her grandfather, Raj Kapoor, was a legendary actor, and her maternal grandfather, Hari Shivdasani, was a noted actor.
