Patna: Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary on Friday inaugurated the first phase of the Karbigahia-Mithapur flyover here, built at a cost of Rs 249 crore, which is expected to ease traffic congestion in the area, officials said.

He also inaugurated a 2.1-km elevated road from Mithapur to Sipara in the city under the Mithapur-Mahuli-Punpun project. According to a statement issued by the Chief Minister’s Office, “The flyover connects the Mithapur bus stand with Mithapur roundabout via the newly constructed Karbigahia roundabout, and is expected to ease traffic congestion in Karbigahia, Mithapur and Station Road, besides improving connectivity to the railway station”.

The elevated road will provide relief from congestion on the Mithapur-Sipara route and facilitate smoother travel towards Mahuli and Punpun, the officials said. Speaking on the occasion, the CM said the two projects would improve traffic management in Patna, reduce vehicular pressure on major roads and ensure safer commuting.
