Hyderabad: Samsung Electronics introduces an alternative option of AI feature accessibility by enabling the side button activation for Gemini, which is Google’s AI assistant, on certain Galaxy A series devices. The much-awaited update began rolling out to devices globally in early May; it lies in making available among a wider audience a much-beloved characteristic of the premium Galaxy S series as part of the continuing efforts for making mobile AI technology accessible to the public.
The updates will cover the Galaxy A56 5G, Galaxy A36 5G, and Galaxy A26 5G models. Soon, users can press and hold the side button to instantly activate Gemini for tasks ranging from calendar checking to discovering nearby restaurant dining options or gift ideas. This integration allows intuitive voice commands and is able to multitask among Samsung, Google, and select third-party apps; e.g., asking Gemini to find a restaurant, then having it send the address again to a friend-all in one go.
It is part of what Samsung has branded as the “Awesome Intelligence” initiative, which aims to democratize advanced AI capacity to make it available to lower-end devices. This makes the Galaxy A series even more attractive because it combines the value of affordability with smart capabilities.
“Samsung and Google have worked hand-in-hand to open up AI,” said Jay Kim of the Executive Vice President at Samsung Electronics. “This is how the update will benefit Galaxy A series users with faster and more natural access to AI using just a single gesture.”
It is exactly what Samsung is doing in pushing the boundaries with this upgrade in delivering cutting-edge technology available to more users worldwide.
