Hyderabad: After almost one-and-a-half months of announcing that it will be launching its new smartphone fan edition, Samsung has now reportedly cancelled the launch. As per reports that appeared on DDaily – a South Korean publication – says that Samsung Galaxy S21 FE (fan edition) stands cancelled.
A Samsung Electronics official mentioned in the report says that the company has cancelled the Galaxy S21 Fan Edition (FE) Unpacked event, which was scheduled to take place in mid-October. He further added that the company seems to be considering not releasing the S21 FE at all. Earlier it was reported that the S21 FE may debut in October after it appeared with full specs at the TENAA certification platform of China back in July.
“The reason for cancelling the event is the good sales of Galaxy Z Flip 3 and other issue is the ongoing global chip shortage issue,” the report says.
There is a possibility that the new report about the cancellation of S21 FE could be only applicable to South Korea. The reason behind it is that it was reported by another South Korean publication FN News in June that the S21 FE will be released in limited markets, a report by Gizmochina says.
