Samsung Launches Galaxy A17 5G with AI Features, OIS Camera, and On-Device Voice Mail in India
Samsung has unveiled the Galaxy A17 5G, its most affordable AI-powered smartphone in the Galaxy A series. Priced from Rs 18,999, it features Circle to Search, Gemini Live, on-device voice mail, a Super AMOLED display, and a 50MP OIS camera
Hyderabad: Samsung, India’s leading consumer electronics brand, has announced the launch of its most affordable AI-enabled smartphone in the Galaxy A series — the Galaxy A17 5G. With a sleek 7.5mm profile and weighing just 192 grams, the device is also the slimmest in its segment.
Building on the success of the Galaxy A16 5G, one of Samsung’s best-selling models in India, the Galaxy A17 5G brings flagship-level features including AI tools, optical image stabilization (OIS), and durability enhancements to the budget segment.

AI Features for the Masses
The Galaxy A17 5G brings Circle to Search with Google, enabling users to search images, text, or music by simply circling on the screen. Another highlight is Gemini Live, a new AI experience that enables real-time visual conversations with an AI assistant, improving task efficiency and user interaction.
Uniquely developed in India, the on-device Voice Mail feature debuts with the Galaxy A17 5G. It allows callers to leave voice messages even when the user is unavailable—ensuring important calls are never missed.
OIS Camera and Super AMOLED Display
Photography gets a major upgrade with a 50MP main camera featuring Optical Image Stabilization (OIS), dubbed the “No-Shake Cam” by Samsung. It’s supported by a 5MP ultra-wide and a macro lens. The device features a 6.7-inch Full HD+ Super AMOLED display, offering vibrant visuals even under bright sunlight.

The Galaxy A17 5G is built with Corning® Gorilla® Glass Victus® on the front and comes with an IP54 rating, offering resistance against dust and splashes. The phone ships with One UI 7 and promises six years of security updates along with six generations of Android OS upgrades, a first in its segment.
