Hyderabad: The Telangana State Sand Lorry Owners Association on Thursday staged a protest against the Government Orders on revising the radium stickers fixing charges.

The sand lorry owners burnt the GO copies at Autonagar demanding the government to withdraw the orders.

Association president Survi Yadaiah said the orders issued by both central and State governments were imposing additional burden on the lorry owners.

The State government had issued orders making fixing of radium stickers mandatory for issue of fitness certification. Since the lorry owners pay the road tax, the government should bear the radium sticker charges and the same should not be imposed on the lorry owners, he demanded.

“If the government does not consider our demands, we will intensify our protests,” Yadaiah said in a statement.
