Sangareddy: Hanumantha Rao, founder of Ganothri Go Nilayam, a Hyderabad-based organisation working for the protection of cows, donated 22 bullocks to farmers of Deccan Development Society (DDS) on Wednesday.
Zaheerabad DSP Shankar Raju, DDS farmer Gangwar Anjamma, who won the plant genome award, Municipal Commissioner Janaki Ram handed over the bullocks.
Speaking on the occasion, Hanumanth Rao said he was confident that the DDS women farmers will take care of the bullocks like their children.
Saying that many of the current generations were forgetting traditional agriculture activities, he said that the present generation will have a glimpse of traditional cultivation as the DDS women farmers were still using bollocks in their farming activities. “It pains me to see several people abandoning the cattle on the roads,” he lamented.
Director of DDS PV Sathish thanked Gangothri Go Nilayam and Hanumanth Rao for the kind gesture. DDS Coordinator Chinna Narsamma and others were present.
