Sangareddy: DSP Cybercrime N Venugopal Reddy advised students to remain vigilant on digital platforms and avoid clicking on URLs shared by fraudsters. He noted that many victims fall prey to cybercrimes due to a desire to earn quick money.

Addressing degree students at Acharya Degree College in Zaheerabad on Wednesday as part of Cyber Jaagrookta Diwas, Venugopal Reddy sensitised them on business and investment frauds, identity theft, loan scams, advertising fraud and general online safety.

The Cyber Crime Department also organised a quiz to test students’ awareness of cybercrime. Over 600 students attended the programme. Three students, K Venkatesh, M Nageshwari and Navya Sri, were awarded certificates for excelling in the quiz.

Similar awareness sessions were held at Saint Ann’s Degree College in Sangareddy and Government Junior College in Patancheru, where Inspector Ravi addressed students on digital safety.
