Sangareddy: Several parts of Sangareddy district received moderate to heavy rainfall on Monday, bringing much-needed relief to farmers who had sown various crops early.
The district had witnessed good rainfall during the latter half of May, prompting many farmers to sow cotton, maize, soya, and other crops early.
However, a nearly 10-day dry spell left them anxious, as partial or no sprouting was observed across the region due to a lack of moisture. Monday’s rain revived their hopes and brought smiles to their faces.
Meanwhile, farmers who had delayed sowing were seen preparing to begin operations following the fresh showers. In Narayankhed town, which recorded heavy rainfall, some low-lying areas were flooded.
