Sangareddy: With the issue of private hospitals charging exorbitant fees from Covid-19 patients in Sangareddy district coming to the notice of officials, the Medical and Health Department has fixed the fee for various tests and treatment.
In a press statement here on Monday, District Medical and Health Officer (DMHO) Dr Gayathri Devi said private hospitals must not charge more than Rs 400 from patients admitted in general wards. The fee includes charges for tests such as blood test, urine test, HIV Test, HCV, Hepatitis-B, Serum Creatinine, Ultrasound Scanning, 2D-echo, X-Ray, ECG, Medicines, Doctor Fee, Bed Charge, food and catheter.
The DMHO said that the patients admitted in ICU and put on a ventilator must be charged with Rs 4,000 and Rs 9,000 per day respectively. She said that the hospitals are permitted to charge Rs 2,200 for Covid-19 tests. The charges stipulated for various diagnostic and health services by the Health Department will be placed in each of 28 hospitals where Covid-19 treatment is being given in Sangareddy district.
