Sangareddy: Irrigation water released from Singur
Andole MLA said irrigation authorities had made all arrangements to impound all minor irrigation tanks in Pulkal and Andole mandals.
Sangareddy: Zilla Parishad Chairperson P Manjusri and Andole MLA Chanti Kranthi Kiran released irrigation water from the Singur project to canals on Sunday.
Speaking on the occasion, the MLA said irrigation authorities had made all arrangements to impound all minor irrigation tanks in Pulkal and Andole mandals.
Suggesting that farmers help the irrigation authorities in ensuring that the water flows into all the tanks, Kranthi Kiran said some villagers were blocking the flow of water downstream, depriving farmers in tail-end villages of irrigation water.
He said the government will provide irrigation water to 40,000 acres under the project. “Farmers reaped a bumper harvest last Yasangi since the government released water from the project,” he said. The ZP Chairman appealed to the farmers to make the best use of the water.
