Sangareddy: Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao will visit Sangareddy district on February 21 to lay foundation stone for construction of Sangameshwara Lift Irrigation Project (SLIP) and Basaveshwara Lift Irrigation Project (BLIP) near Narayankhed in the district.
The two projects will be built with an approximate budget of Rs 4,400 crore. They will provide irrigation water to 3.84 lakh acres in Andole, Sangareddy, Zaheerabad and Narayankhed Assembly constituencies. The Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Scheme water will be pumped into the Singur project, constructed across Manjeera at Singur village in Andole constituency, initially as part of package-18 of the KLIS.
The same water will be pumped out across Sangareddy through SLIP and BLIP. To prepare the cadre for the Chief Minister’s meeting, the MLAs of Andole, Narayankhed, Zaheerabad and Sangareddy will hold meetings in respective constituencies from February 16 onwards.
Andole MLA Chanti Kranthi Kiran said he would hold a meeting with his cadre on February 16. He said Finance Minister T Harish Rao would also attend the meeting. Meanwhile, officials of district administration, Police and irrigation departments were busy making arrangements for the Chief Minister’s visit.
