Sangareddy: Man climbs tower threatening suicide after losing Rs.4000 in theft
A 28-year-old man climbed a cell tower in Jogipet after alleging that Rs 4,000 given to him ahead of voting was stolen. Family members and friends intervened and persuaded him to come down safely after over an hour.
Sangareddy: A man climbed a cell tower in a bid to end his life, alleging that someone had stolen Rs.4,000 from his pocket in Jogipet town on Saturday morning.
The man was identified as Makkala Ashok, 28, a resident of Jogipet. A ward councillor had reportedly given him Rs.4,000 on Friday to vote in his favour. When he woke up on Saturday morning at his residence, he found the amount missing.
An irate Ashok ran out of his house and climbed a cell tower, demanding that those who had stolen his money return it immediately, failing which he threatened to jump off the tower.
His family members and friends rushed to the spot and persuaded him to come down, assuring him that they would give him the amount. After more than an hour of efforts, he finally climbed down from the tower.
