Sangareddy: Ragging turned ugly at the Government Medical College in Sangareddy after a group of senior MBBS students allegedly attempted to attack family members of a first-year student at Santhi Nagar in Sangareddy town on Wednesday night.
According to Sangareddy police, the seniors had harassed first-year student Pratik Chandra during an interaction. Pratik’s elder brother questioned their behaviour, which angered the seniors. Later in the night, they reportedly went to Pratik’s home and attempted to attack the family.
The incident was captured on CCTV cameras. After being alerted, the Sangareddy police reached the spot and took a few senior students into custody. The incident triggered tension in the locality. A probe is under way.
