Sangareddy: Cybercrime DSP N Venugopal Reddy advised girl students not to share their private information with unknown persons on social media, warning that it could land them in serious trouble.

Speaking at a special awareness programme organised for women degree students of Tara College, Women’s Degree College and Saint Anthony’s College on the occasion of International Women’s Day in Sangareddy on Monday, the DSP explained the importance of two-factor authentication for social media accounts and the need to change privacy settings to keep them secure. Reddy also cautioned students against falling prey to fake matrimonial fraudsters and advised them to avoid accepting suspicious friend requests on social media platforms. Nearly 500 women students attended the programme and interacted with cybercrime police officials to clear their doubts on various issues related to cyber security.

Town Inspector Ramu Naidu, Cyber Crime Inspector Ravi and others were present.
