Sangareddy: The district police on Wednesday seized 260 kg of dry ganja worth Rs 1.30 crore from two cars transporting the contraband from Odisha to Maharashtra.

Acting on a tip-off, a police team led by S-NAB Inspector Nageshwar Rao and Munipally Sub-Inspector Rajesh Nayak intercepted the vehicles at Kamkole toll plaza on National Highway 65 in the early hours. Upon inspection, they found the ganja concealed inside.


The police arrested four accused, identified as Pitara Paricha (25), David Paul (23), Dharamchand Paiko (30), and Sanjeev Kumar Paricha (35). Two cars and four mobile phones were also seized from them. Superintendent of Police Paritosh Pankaj said stern action would be taken against drug peddlers and urged citizens to alert the police if they notice any suspicious activity.
