Sangareddy: Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) sleuths caught a Deputy Tahsildar and Village Revenue Assistant (VRA) red-handed while they were accepting Rs 2,000 bribe from a farmer in Kohir Thesildar’s office in Sangareddy district on Monday.
Veeraiah, a farmer, approached Tahsildar’s office seeking revenue documents of his land, ROR-Pahani and Kasar. When Veeraiah met VRA Veeranna, he took Rs 1,000 bribe for issuing photostat copies. After making him run around his office for a week, Veeranna and Deputy Tahsildar Basavaraj demanded an additional Rs 2,000 from the farmer. Upset by the behaviour of revenue officials, Veeraiah approached ACB DSP Anand Kumar, who laid a trap to nab both the revenue officials.
