Sangareddy: In a tragic incident, a woman member of Grama Panchayat died when the tractor-trolley of Grama Panchayat veered off the road and fell on her.

The victim was identified as Zubeda Begum (62), a ward member of Khambampally village in Munipally Mandal. Begum was proceeding towards her agriculture field on Thursday morning when the incident happened.

The death was instant for her as she was crushed under the trolley. Begum’s family cried foul since the Grama Panchayat is headed by a Congress candidate and the tractor is being driven by sarpanch’s close associate. However, the driver and sarpanch were absconding since the incident happened.

• The Budera Police have registered a case and the investigation is on.
