Nalgonda: Former Chairman of Telangana State Legislative Council Gutha Sukender Reddy on Thursday said the Praja Sangrama Yatra of BJP state president Bandi Sanjay was an attempt to disturb the communal harmony in Telangana State.
Speaking to the media here, Sukender Reddy said Sanjay’s comments during his yatra stating that Hindus, who constitute 80 per cent of the population, should unite was nothing short of provoking a section of the people. “No communal clashes have been reported in the State in the last seven years and Sanjay is conspiring the disturb the peaceful atmosphere in the State,” he said.
Pointing out that Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao had himself declared that no one was bigger Hindu than him, he said the Chief Minister took up development of Yadadri at a cost of Rs 1,000 crores. He said the BJP president and other leaders of his party had no moral right to criticise either the Chief Minister or the State government.
The hike in prices of diesel, petrol and LPG by the Centre had caused additional financial burden on the poor across the State, he said and wondered why BJP leaders from the State were not raising their voice for implementation of promises made to Telangana under the AP Reorganization Act or bring projects to our state.
reminding that Telangana state stood in sixth place in the country in extending revenue to the centre, he said that SGDP, Per Capita Income and electricity consumption were increased in the state after 2014, which was a parameter for development.
He asked the people not to believe the false propaganda taken up by leaders of the opposition party against the TRS government. The leaders of Congress and BJP were indulged in mudslinging against the TRS government for their political existence in the state.
