Visakhapatnam: Sankar Foundation Eye Hospital and Institute, Visakhapatnam, a super specialty eye hospital of repute in North Andhra Pradesh, added another feather in its cap when it was conferred with the prestigious “National Accreditation Board for Hospitals Healthcare Providers (NABH)”, a Constituent Board of Quality Control of India, for its quality eye care services.
KBN Manimala, Managing Trustee and CEO, Sankar Foundation congratulated the entire staff for their collective efforts in getting the prestigious recognition and she exhorted them to
sustain the spirit by maintaining the quality standards by providing eye care services to the community with commitment.
The Certification of Accreditation, an important milestone for any hospital and the standards provide a framework for quality assurance and quality improvement for hospitals. The standards focus on patient safety and quality of care. The standards also call for continuous monitoring of sentinel events and comprehensive corrective action plan leading to building of quality culture at all levels and across all the functions.
The Accreditation, valid for three years, has been awarded to Sankar Foundation following very strict and comprehensive audit of various departments of the hospital by external audit team and has been assessed and found to comply with Accreditation Standards for Eye Care organization.
