Hyderabad: A group of unidentified women allegedly stole designer sarees worth Rs 12 lakh during a textile exhibition in Jubilee Hills.
Anjana Devi, a fashion designer from Bengaluru and currently staying in Kondapur here runs a boutique named ‘Anu Six Yards’. She often organises fashion shows and exhibitions with her customised dresses in Hyderabad.
As per available information, on the occasion of International Women’s Day on March 8, she organised a cloth exhibition at a cafe on Road No.44 in Jubilee Hills. After the exhibition was completed, she realised that a total of seven sarees, each costing about Rs 2 lakh were missing.
On examining the CCTV footage at the cafe premises, six unidentified women had come to the exhibition, stole the sarees and decamped with them.
Based on her complaint, the Jubilee Hills police have booked a case and took up investigation. Efforts are on to identify and nab the suspect women.
