Suryapet: Leaders of Sarpanches Forum on Wednesday conducted Ksheerabhisekham to the portrait of Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao at MPDO office in Yadagirigutta for announcing RS 25 lakhs to each gram panchayat in Yadadri-Bhongir district.
The sarpanches raised slogans praising the Chief Minister. Speaking on the occasion, forum mandal president S Venkataiah said the Chief Minister announced Rs 25 lakhs for each gram panchayat, Rs one crore for Bhongir municipality and Rs 50 lakhs each for the remaining municipalities at the gram sabha at Vasalamarri on Tuesday. The decision of the Chief Minister would lead to the comprehensive development of 421 gram panchayats in the district, he said.
He said that steps taken up by the State government for revival of caste-based professions had strengthened the rural economy in the State. Palle Pragathi programme was also helping villages develop itself as model gram panchayat, he added.
Yadagirigutta municipal chairperson ERukala Sudha Mahender Goud, vice chairman Katam Raju and others also participated in the programme.
